How to work with us
How ordering works
No account needed to get a quote. A work email is all we ask for.
- 01
Step 1
Upload your CAD file
STEP, IGES, DXF, DWG or a PDF drawing, up to 5 MB.
- 02
Step 2
Quote and DFM review
An engineer checks the drawing and sends one quote with the price, lead time and DFM notes.
- 03
Step 3
Confirm your order
Review the quote, confirm the details and production starts.
- 04
Step 4
Made, inspected, shipped
Parts are machined, measured against your drawing and shipped with their documents.

FAQ

Contact the Maketeq teamWhat does Maketeq make?
Custom parts made to your drawing: CNC machining (milling, turning, 5-axis and precision machining) and sheet metal laser cutting and bending. We work in metals, and in plastics and other materials on request. We don't offer injection molding, 3D printing or waterjet cutting.
What tolerances can you hold?
It depends on the part. Geometry, size, wall thickness, material, process and finish all set what a feature can hold, so there is no single standard tolerance. We work to the tolerances on your drawing and confirm them in the quote. On suitable machined features we can hold down to ±0.005 mm (±0.0002") on request.
Which materials and finishes do you offer?
Aluminum (1xxx to 8xxx series), stainless steel (200, 300, 400 series and PH grades), mild steel (10xx, 11xx, 12xx), tool steel (A, D, H, M, O, S and W series), titanium (grades 1 to 5), brass and copper. The exact grade is confirmed in your quote. Finishes include anodizing Type II and Type III, bead blasting, powder coating, passivation, electroplating and painting.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
No. There is no minimum order quantity. You can order one part or a production batch.
How long does delivery take?
It depends on part complexity, quantity, material, finish and destination. Every quote states the lead time, and that's the date we work to.
Which documents come with my parts?
Standard QC inspection, material certification (mill certs) and ISO 9001 documentation with every order. CMM inspection report and DFM analysis available on request.
Which file formats can I upload?
All common CAD formats, including STEP, IGES, DXF, DWG and PDF drawings, up to 5 MB per file. A STEP file with a PDF drawing gives the most accurate quote.
How do payment and currency work?
A partial advance on order and the balance before dispatch. We accept payment in all currencies.
Do you ship worldwide and handle customs?
Yes. We usually ship with DHL or FedEx, use local carriers such as DPD in the UK where it suits the country, and handle customs paperwork where required. Prefer a specific carrier? Tell us when you order.
